Penrhyn Castle is a vast neo-Norman fantasy castle built between 1820 and 1837 near Bangor in Gwynedd. Visitors can see its luxurious interiors, the Victorian kitchens and a Railway Museum, then explore a walled garden with fountains and acres of parkland, with a nature trail leading down towards the Ogwen River.
Penrhyn Castle is rated two pawprints, and dogs are welcome all year on a short lead. Dogs can go across the garden and grounds, including the nature trail and the walk to the Ogwen River, and into the visitor reception area and both the Stables and Castle Cafe. Only assistance dogs are allowed inside the castle, which includes the shop. Water bowls are in the visitor welcome centre, near the Victorian Kitchens and by the Stables Cafe.
