Urquhart Castle is one of Scotland's largest castles, set on a rocky promontory on the shore of Loch Ness near Drumnadrochit. Its ruins span over 1,000 years of history, and visitors can climb the Grant Tower, explore the great hall and prison cell, see a full-size trebuchet, and use the visitor centre's shop and cafe.
Historic Environment Scotland do not publish a line about visitors' dogs for this site. Their site-wide rule, from their own pages, is that assistance dogs are permitted at all their sites including roofed areas, that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and never left unattended, and that owners must pick up after them. Whether ordinary visitors' dogs are admitted here is not stated either way, so check the signs on arrival before counting on it.
