Chirk Aqueduct carries the Llangollen Canal 70 feet above the River Ceiriog on the Wales-England border at Chirk. Completed in 1801 by William Jessop and Thomas Telford, it has ten masonry arches, and the towpath continues into Chirk Tunnel, one of the first in the UK with a towpath. It is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
