Birmingham (Aston) PDSA Pet Hospital is a veterinary hospital run by the PDSA charity on Dulverton Road in Witton, Birmingham. PDSA provides free or low-cost treatment for the pets of eligible owners who receive qualifying benefits and live within the hospital's catchment area. The PDSA page states that the hospital is not currently accepting new registrations.
PDSA Pet Hospitals are not open to every pet owner. To be treated here you must BOTH be receiving a qualifying benefit AND live inside that hospital's postcode catchment area - one without the other is not enough, so check before you travel. Qualifying benefits include Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Council Tax support or reduction, Pension Credit, Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance, income-based Employment and Support Allowance, Child or Working Tax Credit, Personal Independence Payment or Adult Disability Payment, and Armed Forces Independence Payment or War Disablement Pension. State pensioners in Council Tax bands A to D may also qualify. Treatment is free or low cost depending on the service. Use the eligibility checker on pdsa.org.uk with your postcode, or call 0300 3737 223. If you receive benefits but live outside a hospital catchment, the separate PDSA Pet Care scheme runs through partner practices for a small monthly payment. This is a working veterinary hospital rather than somewhere to visit with a dog.
